I credit my dad for instilling in me a passion for photography when I was a young teenager. I learned the craft on a totally manual film camera with a handheld meter. In 1991, I turned my hobby into a business when I photographed my first wedding. For me, people are the most interesting subjects. Capturing candid moments of genuine emotion that illustrate that special bond between newlyweds, family and good friends is what motivates me in my work.
I have been married over 25 years to my wife Karen (a violinist) and we have had seven children. I also credit the whimsical nature of my fast moving kids for advancing my photographic skills in fast paced shooting environments. It's been, and continues to be - a lot of fun.
Photographing weddings is hard work but very rewarding and humbling. I'm constantly reminded of my own wedding vows, the importance of good parenting and the importance of forming strong and lasting relationships.
